- ➤ Bear Valley PD urged drivers to be careful after a car hit a bull elk on Monday, Dec. 8 near Bear Valley Road at San Juan Drive + the driver was not injured though the vehicle was badly damaged and the elk died the next day. Bakersfield Now

- ➤ Kern County Public Works received a $200K grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to improve its Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Program.
