- ➤ On Monday, December 1, BC welcomed therapy dogs from Miracle Mutts at its Panorama Campus to ease student stress during busy end of semester tasks — the dogs gathered in the BC Library lobby as part of De-Stress Week, and more events like meditation workshops and free snacks will run until December 4. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A federal review found that 44% of the nation's 16,000 truck-driving programs may lose certification if they do not meet basic training standards within 30 days. In Bakersfield, local schools have not received shutdown warnings, although some (about 10–15) are scheduled for audits (including Union Truck Driving School) to ensure proper compliance. 23ABC News
- ➤ Bakersfield officials confirmed overnight closures on Highway 99 and Highway 58 for falsework removal, and detours were already in place on Tuesday.
