- ➤ Pierre Freeman — 37 — was arrested in east Bakersfield after he allegedly attempted to break into an apartment on the 500 block of Niles St. at 1:15 a.m. on Sept. 7 and now faces charges for burglary, resisting arrest, being under the influence and vandalism. Bakersfield Now
- ➤ Cal State University Bakersfield placed an assistant basketball coach on leave for alleged human trafficking, and police arrested Kevin Mays—32—after an anonymous tip linked him to a victim in Sacramento via rental cars, hotel records, and online ads. Officers seized guns, drugs, and cash from his vehicle and apartment, and he faces charges for trafficking, drugs, and weapons. KUZZ
