Kern Autism Network celebrated 30 years of supporting families and people with autism at Bakersfield Country Club (in Northeast Bakersfield) on Saturday, with Mayor Karen Goh and Congressman David Valadao’s office honoring its community impact.

A free 988 Day resource fair and blood drive will be held Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Beale Memorial Library — part of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month — hosted by Kern Behavioral Health and Houchin Blood Bank.

An 8-year-old Bakersfield boxer, Jayd Soto, is 6-0 with three titles after winning the Junior Olympics, Junior Golden Gloves and International PAL.
He trains five days a week at Warmup Athletics and is known as the (Young Mamba) for his hard work.
