- ➤ A DUI probation sweep on September 4 in Lamont led officers to arrest Julian Gomez who was wanted on a felony warrant – a home search found two low-caliber rifles, brass knuckles and about one pound of cocaine – and he now faces several charges. Bakersfield Now
- ➤ On August 17 just before 1 a.m., police responded to a shooting at Panorama Bluffs where 17-year-old Brody Davis died after being struck by a gunshot—19-year-old Sebastian Dominguez, who claimed he accidentally discharged his gun while high on inhalants, was arrested and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. - ➤ The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents for help finding a woman missing since November—she was last seen by her family. The Bakersfield Californian
- ➤ Police arrested 32-year-old Kevin Mays for trafficking a woman across three states after an anonymous tip led them to online ads and evidence showing he moved the victim—searches of his car and apartment found a loaded gun, drugs, and other weapons. Bakersfield Now

- ➤ A pavement rehabilitation project on California Avenue will affect eastbound and northbound lanes between Stockdale Highway and Real Road starting Monday, September 8 with work scheduled each weekday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.—drivers should plan alternate routes until the project ends on October 27.
