Bakersfield Police arrested a suspect on Saturday morning just before 9 a.m. in a neighborhood near White Lane and Stine Road after a stabbing left a victim with minor injuries; the investigation is ongoing.

Governor Gavin Newsom announced a statewide task force to dismantle unsafe encampments on state property and connect individuals to housing, shelter, mental health, and substance use services.
