- ➤ Bakersfield’s CHP crime suppression team, established in April 2024, has led to 859 felony arrests, 2,654 DUI arrests, 1,386 recovered vehicles and 114 seized firearms—helping drive crime down after Kern County saw a 57% drop in homicides and a 60% drop in shootings as Governor Newsom expands these teams statewide. 23ABC News
- ➤ The Kern County Sheriff's Office asked the public for help finding 17-year-old Anthony Lukenbill, who was last seen wearing a gray shirt and gray pants at his home on the 3300 block of Carnation Street in Rosamond at 8:00 p.m. on August 27th—authorities say he is at risk due to having no history of going missing. - ➤ Today, the Portrait of a Warrior Gallery in Bakersfield completed a monument honoring veterans who did not return, displaying over 80,000 dog tags from WWII—each dog tag marking a sacrifice.
