Fernando Jara, husband of Supervisor Leticia Perez, was arrested Saturday at about 3 p.m. for making a terrorizing threat near Alta Vista Drive and Jefferson Street—he is in Lerdo Jail with bail set at $20,000 and will be in court Tuesday.

Animal advocates protested for a full investigation after video footage in May showed an injured dog abandoned behind a dumpster in East Bakersfield—supporters held a small memorial outside Rusty's Pizza on Niles St. as authorities have not yet identified a responsible party.
