- ➤ The Bakersfield Police Department is asking the community for help in finding Jesse Collins III (62), who was last seen on February 7th near Memorial Hospital in the 400 block of 34th Street. Bakersfield Now
- ➤ A vegetation fire burned a few acres near the Park at Riverwalk amphitheater on July 9 and the Bakersfield Fire Department with help from the Kern County Fire Department arrested one person for arson—the suspect was later booked into Lerdo Jail with no injuries or property damage reported. - ➤ Two inmates—David Charles Macon and Michael Gaddy—were convicted on July 9 for attacking another inmate on April 7 at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano using inmate-made stabbing weapons that caused at least eight wounds and now face additional penalties with a sentencing hearing set for August 1.
