Community members celebrated Juneteenth during a multi-day event.

They gathered at Bakersfield College on Wednesday for a free Freedom, Family and Fellowship event hosted by the NAACP and Kern County Black Chamber of Commerce and now enjoy family-friendly activities at Jastro Park today.

OneLegacy opened its new regional office on Old River Road on Thursday with a ribbon cutting attended by community leaders, donor families and transplant recipients.

The office will strengthen support for local hospitals and speed up transplant responses.

The California Farmworker Foundation opened a new Family Resource Center in Delano on Friday to provide healthcare, education, immigration help, and food support for farmworker families.

The nonprofit converted the old Bakersfield College campus and will add more services in October.
