- ➤ Bakersfield Police are asking the public for help finding at-risk 14-year-old Kaelyn Gomez who was last seen on May 18 in the 8300 block of Laborough Dr and is described as 4-foot-11 and 100-pound with blond hair and hazel eyes. Bakersfield Now
- ➤ Kern County inmate Maminder Singh, 26, hid below a jail transport bus on Truxtun Avenue on May 14 when the driver stopped after hearing screams—he suffered moderate injuries and now faces an extra charge along with his other felony and misdemeanor charges. KUZZ
- ➤ Officials say that Enrique Gomeztagle, 31, a North Kern State Prison inmate, died from asphyxiation when staff found him unresponsive in his cell on January 29— the Kern County Coroner confirmed his death as murder and an investigation is underway. KUZZ
