  • Kern County health officials warn of a potential bad tick season as emergency room visits for tick bites are higher this outdoor season. Doctors recommend using insect repellent and staying on trails (to help prevent tick-borne illnesses) while advising residents to check themselves and pets after spending time outside.  23ABC News
