- ➤ On April 30, a vehicle veered off Highway 58 near the San Luis Obispo line + plunged about 50 or 60 feet from an embankment and landed on its roof, prompting Kern County firefighters to rescue two occupants with minor to moderate injuries. Bakersfield Now

- ➤ A 51-year-old man with a license suspended for drunken driving was arrested for a deadly hit-and-run crash on Westside Parkway on Saturday after police found a fatally injured man near the Mohawk Street off-ramp and later located his vehicle in the 7300 block of Stockdale Highway—he will appear in court Tuesday.
