- ➤ Bakersfield residents were notified of a possible 300% increase that would raise a home’s sewer rate from $239 to $950. Homeowners must mail a written protest by May 28 — including their parcel number, address, and signature — to the city clerk at 1600 Truxtun Avenue to block the hike. 23ABC News
