- ➤ Authorities arrested a 17-year-old boy on Wible Road in connection with the April 5 shooting that killed Jessica Lorraine Arevalos and injured another woman—he is due in court today while 20-year-old Tyree Buckley’s arraignment was postponed to April 24. KGET
- ➤ Bakersfield Police Department is asking the public to help identify two robbery and assault suspects; the first (with short black hair and wearing a black sweatshirt, black shorts and white shoes) and the second (with black hair and wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, black pants and white shoes) were involved in an incident that occurred April 9th at 10:30 p.m. on Truxtun Ave. KGET

- ➤ Bakersfield residents are objecting to a proposed sewer rate increase that will raise fees for a single home from $239 to $950, saying the hike will worsen their financial burden. City officials say the change is needed to cover rising maintenance costs, and residents must submit written protests by May 28—over 53,000 letters are needed to block the increase—while debates continue. 23ABC News
