  • Tax professionals warn local tipped workers that the 'no tax on tips' rule is misleading because all tip income must be reported and California rules differ from federal deductions. They advise verifying records with a tax pro since errors could lead to unexpected bills today.  23ABC News

  • The Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County will close its adult day program at the end of May, reducing hours to 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. until then. The agency will launch a mobile dementia caregiver support hub on May 4 to offer training & resources for families.  Bakersfield Now
