- ➤ A California City resident spotted an injured dog missing its nose near 92nd Street and Fir Avenue last Thursday and alerted police for a welfare check; the dog, now called Bear (receiving antibiotics at Quartz Hill Veterinary Clinic), is under care as officials review the incident. - ➤ Rep. Valadao said rising fuel and input costs are straining local farmers as prices for water, electricity, and diesel have increased yearly. - ➤ Hard Rock Casino Tejon honored Sheriff Donny Youngblood and Fire Chief Aaron Duncan with custom guitars as it marked the upcoming opening of Kern County’s new sheriff’s substation funded by the Tejon Tribe.
