  • Tony Quach, a 70-year-old hiker, was rescued by Kern County and L.A. County search and rescue teams from Mount Pinos on Thursday after a slippery trail and 17-degree weather forced him to use his phone's SOS feature — he is now recovering and plans to volunteer with the rescue team.  Bakersfield Now
